Huddle Log Support

Answers to common questions, and a form to contact us.

Purchases and subscriptions

What’s the difference between Lifetime and Monthly?

Both unlock the same features on every Mac, iPhone, and iPad that uses your Apple Account. Lifetime is a one-time purchase with no recurring charge. Monthly is an auto-renewable subscription that renews each month until you cancel it. Prices are shown in Huddle Log and in the App Store. Family Sharing doesn’t apply to either.

Buying Lifetime doesn’t cancel a Monthly subscription. If you switch, cancel Monthly as described below.

How do I restore a purchase on another device?

Make sure the device uses the same Apple Account you bought or subscribed with.

  • Mac: Open Huddle Log’s settings, click General, then click Restore Purchases.
  • iPhone and iPad: In Huddle Log, open Settings, then tap Restore Purchases under Purchase.

How do I manage or cancel Monthly?

While you’re subscribed, you can open Settings in Huddle Log, go to About, and choose Manage Subscription. You can also cancel in your Apple Account:

  • iPhone and iPad: Open the Settings app, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
  • Mac: Open the App Store, click your name, click Account Settings, then click Manage next to Subscriptions.

To avoid being charged for the next month, cancel at least 24 hours before the current month ends. Huddle Log stays unlocked until the end of the month you paid for. Deleting Huddle Log doesn’t cancel a subscription, and we can’t cancel it for you because Apple manages it.

How do I request a refund?

Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases and subscriptions. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, and choose the purchase. If Apple declines and the law entitles you to a refund from us, contact us using the form below.

What does the free version include?

Three free meetings, up to 30 minutes each. Recordings and imported audio files count together. A recording shorter than 30 seconds doesn’t count, and deleting a meeting doesn’t give a free meeting back. A free recording warns you at 25 minutes and is stopped and saved at 30 minutes. Copy and Export work in the free version, and PDFs include a short credit line naming Huddle Log.

The free version has no trial period and never turns into a paid plan by itself. Meetings you’ve made stay yours to read, play, copy, and export, whether or not you buy or subscribe.

Recording and transcription

Which languages does Huddle Log transcribe?

English only. Transcripts and speaker labels are made automatically and can contain mistakes, especially when people talk over each other, in noisy rooms, or with similar voices. Check anything important against the recording.

Which permissions does Huddle Log need?

  • Mac: Microphone, to record you, and System Audio Recording, to record the audio of your call or other apps. Calendars and notifications are optional. You can change these in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
  • iPhone and iPad: Microphone, to record the room. Calendars and notifications are optional. You can change these in Settings > Privacy & Security. iPhone and iPad don’t let apps record phone calls or other apps’ audio; to record calls, use Huddle Log on a Mac.

Tell people before you record them. Recording laws differ from place to place, and some require everyone’s consent.

Your meetings

Where are my recordings stored?

In Huddle Log’s storage on the device you recorded on. Huddle Log doesn’t send your recordings, transcripts, or notes to us, and doesn’t sync them between your devices. They can be included in backups you make of your device. Because we never receive your meetings, we can’t recover them; keep your own copy of anything important.

Meetings appear in your device’s search by default, including full transcript text. To turn this off, open Settings in Huddle Log and turn off Show meetings in Spotlight (Mac) or Show meetings in Search (iPhone and iPad).

How do I delete a meeting?

  • Mac: Move the meeting to the Trash from the Library, then empty the Trash to delete it permanently. Removing the Mac app doesn’t delete recordings automatically; to find them, open Huddle Log’s settings, click General, then click Show in Finder next to Recordings folder.
  • iPhone and iPad: Swipe a meeting and tap Delete. You can undo this until Huddle Log next starts, when the meeting is deleted for good. Deleting the app deletes all of its recordings and transcripts.

Copies in your device backups stay until those backups are deleted or replaced, and copies you exported or shared are wherever you put them.

Terms of Use

What happens when the Terms of Use change?

Huddle Log shows you the new version and asks you to agree before you can start a new recording. Until you agree, you can still open, read, play, copy, and export your meetings. Declining doesn’t delete anything. If you have Monthly and don’t agree to a change, cancel your subscription in your Apple Account so you aren’t charged again. Read the current Terms of Use.
